VSS team discussing HVAC careers with students at the University of Liverpool Job Fair

Inspiring students and building the next generation of HVAC talent

Ventilation Surveys & Services Ltd attended the University of Liverpool Job Fair on 30 September, meeting students and discussing the career opportunities available across the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.

VSS CEO George Friend, a member of the BESA Technical Committee, spoke with students about the HVAC sector and the importance of recognised industry standards. George has contributed to TR19 Air, TR19 Grease, DW145 and wider British and European standards. He was joined by Jack Friend, who sits on an Association of Ductwork Contractors and Allied Services (ADCAS) committee, along with members of our HR team, Natasha and Jennifer. Together, they discussed VSS career pathways, apprenticeships and part-time opportunities with students.

The event gave our team the opportunity to introduce students to the breadth of technical and operational roles within the sector and explain how practical experience, industry knowledge and transferable skills can support a successful career in HVAC.

As part of our ongoing commitment to developing future talent in the Liverpool City Region and beyond, VSS offers apprenticeship and part-time opportunities for students. These pathways are designed to provide valuable industry exposure, develop relevant skills and help prepare participants for future employment within the HVAC and building services sector.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the VSS stand and spoke with our team. The Job Fair was a fantastic event, and we were delighted to receive a strong number of applications from students. VSS is proud to support emerging talent and help inspire the next generation of HVAC professionals.
